About Emma Glover
Emma resides in Victoria, British Columbia. Living on the West Coast of Canada provides inspiration for her work; the clean lines from the ocean, the organic textures from the rocky shore and the layers in the horizon are reminiscent in her pieces. An avid traveller, Emma enjoys sourcing out semi and precious stones for her work while experiencing different cultures around the world
Emma has been creating jewellery as long as she can remember, with the constant support and encouragement of her family. “How many parents would wear a papermache and shoestring necklace in public? ” Luckily, Emma moved on to recycled gold, sterling silver with semi-precious and precious stones, and has completed her Diploma in Jewellery Design and Metal Smithing in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with world recognized instructor, Billy King.
Emma’s pieces are contemporary in style and reflect strong use of texture, lines and form. All her pieces are hand-crafted and original, using sterling silver, gold and quality semi-precious and precious stones. “I never strive to create pieces that are perfectly symmetrical or appear manufactured. Instead the product is the expression of the mark that my hands have left on the metal”
Emma has been commissioned to create many custom pieces and enjoys devising unique designs for her clients . Her work is not just pretty, Emma has a keen understanding of functionality which balances perfectly with her innate creativity.
“ I want to thank my instructor Billy King. He gave me the tools to turn long carried ideas into tangible work.”
